The fallout from the pandemic has seen bankruptcy and divorce rates soar, and many courts have not even reopened yet! Before the dust even settles on the divorce clients will be seeking help to unwind that joint liability for the returns they signed with their now ex-spouse. Join us on July 21st as attorney and national speaker Eric Green will walk you through the innocent spouse case from start to finish. The program will review joint liability, what practitioners should consider BEFORE they file the return, and what to do with the client that now owes a liability they do not believe they should be responsible for. The workshop will also review how to document your client’s case, how to complete the Form 8857, and how to prepare and handle the Appeal.
The workshop will include case studies of actual cases with forms so you can follow how things went right, what happened when they went bad, and learn what to do in your practice so you can give your client the best shot of relief possible.
