PCI compliant means that any company or organization that accepts, transmits, or stores the private data of cardholders is compliant with the various security measures outlined by the PCI Security Standard Council to ensure that the data is kept safe and private. The IRS instituted IRC § 6050W requiring tax professionals to comply with PCI requirements. And with data breaches on the rise, tax professionals may face significant penalties if they fail to make sure they are compliant with the rules.
Failure to do this can mean:
-
Up to a $500,000 Fine For A Data Breach
-
Lose ability to accept credit cards from your customers
-
Permanent Loss of Reputation
-
Federal Audits
Join us for a quick one-hour crash-course with Eric Green (Founder of Tax rep Network) and Andrew Lassise (Tech4Accountants Podcast) where they will walk through what you need to know so you can carry on without fear of economic ruin if a data breach occurs.
