Joining Eric Green on this week’s episode of the Tax Rep Network Podcast is Jason Freeman. Jason is a civil and criminal tax controversy attorney and a good friend of Eric’s. Jason has been a guest on the podcast before, chatting about community property issues in Texas. This time, however, Eric and Jason are chatting about the current status of international tax enforcement by the IRS.
Lately, Eric has been receiving questions regarding offshore accounts, streamlining, and delinquent procedures. Eric admittedly doesn’t do much international work, which is why he has invited Jason onto the podcast to offer updates in specific areas of the industry.
Jason begins by stating, “It’s been an interesting ride. I think over the last decade-plus where we’ve seen truly a revolution is in international tax enforcement.” He then goes on to give listeners a bit of history, explaining and detailing this revolution.
If international tax enforcement intrigues you, then this episode of the TRN Podcast is definitely worth listening to. Additionally, Jason has a conference coming up on November 18th and 19th, where this topic—and more—will be addressed.
