Have you listened to our latest podcast episode yet? This week, we’re discussing the IRS takedown of Silk Road and the infamous drug lord behind it. Are you familiar with Silk Road? You will be soon enough.
To help get an authentic understanding of the case, we’re speaking with Gary Alford, the special agent who helped make the takedown happen.
For those of you who do not know Gary, he’s a Supervisory Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (CI) Division in New Haven, which is part of the Boston field office. Currently, Gary serves as the fraud coordinator for the Boston field office.
Additionally, Gary served as the Boston field office’s first-ever cyber strategy lead and previously was the lead cybercrime coordinator for the New York Field Office of IRS CI, as well as led the drafting and implementation of its first cybercrime strategy.
The truth of the matter is that we could go on and on about Gary’s highly impressive background and all of the impressive work he’s done—but we think it’s more interesting to hear Gary speak, specifically about his work on Silk Road.
In this open conversation, Gary details how the Silk Road case originally landed on his desk and what immediate actions he had to take to not only get involved but also gain control.
We guarantee you don’t want to miss this interesting, thrilling, play-by-play encounter from the special agent himself.
