What happens if a taxpayer misses deadlines to submit IRS documents after a levy?
If required documents aren\’t submitted on time, the IRS will typically proceed with additional enforced collection actions, such as further levies on bank accounts or wages. Delays reduce negotiation leverage and can worsen the taxpayer\’s situation. Hence taxpayers should move expeditiously to resolve their issue. And starting in 2024 the IRS has relied more and more on automated enforcement, which cannot be negotiated with, so working with the IRS and meeting deadlines is of critical importance.
