What is an Equivalent Hearing?

An Equivalent Hearing is similar to a CDP hearing, but:
– It does not stop IRS collection activity, and
– It does not provide the right to go to Tax Court.
It is a less powerful but still useful appeals option if the 30-day CDP deadline has passed.
